Notes: It is possible to deviate from our recommended spacing. You will want to consider the final mature size of your plants and their nutrients requirements to ensure that they will all thrive and flourish. For example, mixing peppers and chard can work since they follow a similar spacing and grow to a similar height. You wouldn’t want to grow tomatoes in the same box as lettuce as the tomatoes will quickly outgrow and shade out the lettuce. We’ve also included a few other themed planting suggestions here.
